Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Jae studied at Kingston University and the Royal College of Art, where he developed a distinctive style blending architectural precision with narrative illustration.
For over 20 years, he has worked as an architectural illustrator. Alongside his professional practice, he creates picture books and is a World Illustration Awards 2025 winner in the Book Cover category. Together with his wife, he co-founded a creative studio that brings people’s life stories to life through Jae’s unique architectural illustration style.
His work has appeared on magazine covers and advertising campaigns, and he supports charitable causes including Green Umbrella, which helps children in Africa.
Jae believes that architecture and people together create stories and culture—a philosophy central to his work, which weaves architectural spaces with history, memory, and narrative.
